We’re the husband-and-wife team behind Good Trip, Andrew and Angela. After a year spent on the road and in coffee-growing communities, we landed in Colorado and started Good Trip to offer coffees that better serve our bodies, our planet, and the people who produce them.
Coffee is a vehicle for discovery, positivity and community; it’s a way of travel. And with travel, comes wisdom. A shift in perspective. A common language. A moment for connection.
We invite you to treat your coffee like you treat your travel-- adventurous, authentic and enjoyed without rush.
"A good trip has the ability to expand the mind, revive the soul, and provide a kind of mental clarity that can’t be achieved when remaining stationary." -DailyCoffeeNews
The trip of a lifetime
During the summer of 2015, we left our careers and set out to travel on a shoestring and write a new chapter.
Over the course of nine months, we travelled through Africa, Europe, and made our way to the Pacific coast of Nicaragua. We started buying green coffee from local markets and roasting it on the stove. For two coffee-lovers, it was a dream come true, and ignited a deep interest in learning more about coffee from the source.
Into coffee country
After months tinkering with our roasts and homemade brews, we took a trip through Nicaragua’s coffee-producing regions of Esteli, Jinotega, Matagalpa, and Nueva Segovia, meeting with producers, cooperatives, buyers, and exporters. It was an eye-opening experience, to say the least, and we were captivated.
Equipped with new perspectives and sourcing relationships, we returned to the US and got busy.
Into the test kitchen
Inspired to recreate the fresh cold brew we made in Nicaragua, we saw that the cold brew market in the US was getting crowded with bottles and cans full of sugar and dairy, requiring refrigerated supply chains to ship around products that are mostly water. We knew there was a better way.
Having embraced a spirit of simplicity in our own lives, we decided to apply these values to our products by making it easy for people to cold brew at home without equipment-- or the need for sugar and syrups. After dozens of prototypes, recipe iterations, and refinements, we tested our Brew Bags with friends and coffee-lovers across the country. When the results came back, it was clear: we were onto something good.
Good Trip sets forth
In December, 2016, we launched our website and debuted our first product line of cold brews to friends and family, featuring original artwork by Denver artists Josh Holland and Shannon Bonatakis. In 2017, we hit the Denver-Boulder maker's scene (and welcomed our first child!) In spring 2018 we launched our revamped collection, and our cold brews became available in several Anthropologie locations across the country. And today, the journey continues.
We’re deeply grateful for the opportunity to share our products and values with the world, and to partner with communities of smallholders– they inspired us to start this company in the first place.
Thank you for joining us. We hope you enjoy our coffees as much as we love making them.

From her hands to yours
Coffee producers are the most important link in the chain from seed to cup. Our hope is to bring you closer to these communities, to learn about their craft, and to experience the passion that surrounds their coffees.
